Secretary Gorbea Celebrates Rhode Island Civic Leaders

Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea handed out the 2017 Rhode Island Civic Leadership Award to two impressive high schools students who demonstrated a strong commitment to giving back to their schools and communities. Additionally, 130 students were honored for work on issues such as homelessness and food insecurity. Congratulations to all of our student civic leaders!

At the ceremony, Gorbea emphasized the importance of the award saying, "As Rhode Island civic leaders, we need you to continue to help strengthen the connections that make up our communities. You are part of a long history of Rhode Islanders who took local action and ended up changing the course of global history."
